I already have a chip user name. But i wish now I’d chosen Chipotle or else Chipolata. Anyway, do feel free to use these recommendations - no charge! I do so wish I’d chosen one of them!
Richard
P.S: also feel free to use Chip off the old block, new Chip on the block, hip Chip…

Love the fact that although this post was hidden, all those like myself who disagree with political correctness and who are not snowflakes are able to still be able to read what was originally posted. Let’s get back to free speech.
Unless i missed something, the comment in question was beyond the pale. A government Minister would have resigned the same night if he or she had said it. So whoever it was that reported it was correct in my opinion, as was whoever it was that took it down. It was nothing to do with so-called “snowflakery” or “political correctness”. And for you to claim it as such… Well, I’ll say no more, but I’m sure you get my meaning.
No I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I was talking about mcdonag’s comment and the fact that it had been hidden. I assume so it wouldn’t offend some people. I was commenting on the fact that those of us who prefer to make our own decisions on what we read should be able to, not just here but anywhere. I disagree with half of Americans seeing therapists, but should we hide the word in case others are offended by it?
That’s obviously what I was talking about, too, because I knew what you were taking about. What you are suggesting is that anyone should be allowed to write anything and that it should then remain. I don’t agree. In speech you can do so and get an immediate rebuttal / response and even later ones. But in writing a comment can be taken down to limit / reduce offence. You may be against censorship in general, but when it’s used very proportionately i think it has its place. You might say that any censorship is a slippery slope to so-called wokism or any other ism, but i don’t. Checks and balances work.
@Imawalrus The post was simply inappropriate for this forum. Your argument in response is poor and your example was very weak.
Obviously not so inappropriate that those who are not snowflakes are still allowed to read it
Just to clarify for everyone - the post in question was hidden because it was flagged to us by other users on the forum. It’s been flagged enough times to be deleted now.
Our community guidelines state “Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive”, which in this instance judging from the response seems to apply.
We’re also against name-calling, for the record, and believe we can all make our opinions known and heard without resorting to calling someone a “snowflake” for not wanting to see a certain word or comment in a fintech forum.
Finally, we also state that we’re committed to being a safe space. So if users don’t like a post, they don’t have to see it. The goal of this forum is to be inclusive and welcoming, not to alienate someone who is scrolling past.
How times have changed. We were brought up to believe you don’t start crying because someone was ‘calling you names’. Even so called responsible websites are now kowtowing to the bullies.
@Imawalrus, you are the one who made this all an issue. You are the one who called people derogatory terms. I didn’t see any other bullying. Someone stupidly posted a name suggestion that they shouldn’t have done.
@NikChip, please delete this entire thread. We can all then move on and not be reminded about it.
@Imawalrus Yet another weak reply, you are embarrassing yourself now mate. Your weird opinions don’t suit this fintech forum in general so please just drop it and stop posting.
You’re acting now like I care what you think.
