Wondering if you could help me out on some research here…
This year has certainly been a strange one, and with the festive season fast approaching - i’m wondering whether your wants/needs when it comes to present buying/requesting have changed?
Do you only want practical presents now? Are you looking to support local businesses when buying now? Are you still Black Friday Amazon warriors?
It’d be great to get an idea of where you’re spending, and what kind of things you’re spending on after such a wild couple of months!
I’m not sure what the question means? If the alternative to a practical present is an impractical present, I prefer the former but this hasn’t changed from previous years.
I’m not a fan of just giving someone something for the sake of giving something.
Local businesses?
No, sorry. The internet is too convenient. If said local businesses have a website, then possibly, but not if their prices are not competitive.
Amazon/Black Friday?
I don’t always just go to Amazon to buy stuff, I will Google to find a supplier, but having said that Amazon do often appear in the results list and the price is competitive so more often than not I purchase via Amazon.
I am not organised enough to shop exclusively on Black Friday or patient enough to wait until then. Also, I think the best discounts are probably on big ticket items which I am not looking to buy anyway. If I was looking for a big ticket item, then I might wait until Black Friday.
Much of my spending recently has been on home improvements as likely I will be working from home for foreseeable future so want to make it as nice as possible. Have cut off a lot of the fanciful spending on things I don’t really need. So in terms of Xmas, my focus is on buying presents that will benefit other people and their individual circumstance.
